Comments:Often considered part of the coastal prairie, this series is restricted to the coastal terraces where it mixes with other series at a fine scale [ see California oatgrass series, Idaho fescue series, Introduced perennial grassland series, Tufted hairgrass series]. Stands of Pacific reedgrass series mix with woody series at a coarser scale, especially on headlands [ see Coyote brush series, Hooker willow series, Red alder series, Salal-black huckle-berry series, Sitka spruce series, Yellow bush lupine series].
