Wetland information:Wetlands:soils intermittently flooded, saturated. Water chemistry: fresh. Riparian corridors; floodplains subject to high-intensity flooding; incised canyons, river and stream low-flow margins; seeps; stream and river banks, terraces. Cowardin class: Palustrine orested wetland. The national inventory of wetland plants (Reed 1988) lists red alder as a FACW.
