Comments:Water birch produces distinct riparian corridors along streams in Trans-CA, but regional descriptions include it in general riparian descriptions. Stands of water birch have environmental conditions similar to cottonwood and willow series [see Arroyo willow series, Black cottonwood series, Fremont cottonwood series, Narrowleaf willow series, Red willow series].
