Comments:The Jepson Manual recognizes six quillwort species. Three, Isoetes bolanderi, I. echinospora , and I. occidentalis are found in montane lakes and ponds; two, I . howellii and I. orcuttii , in vernal ponds, and I. nuttallii may occur along stream margins.
