Comments:Pinyon-juniper woodlands are better considered a collection of series. This series occurs on north-facing, cismontane slopes in Laguna Mountains in San Diego Co. Parry pinyon occasionally grows some stands dominated by singleleaf pinyon on transmontane enR slopes. Parry pinyon may be emergent trees over a shrub canopy of chamise, Eastwood manzanita, Muller oak, red shank [ see Chamise series, Eastwood manzanita series, Cupleaf ceanothus-fremontia-oak series, Red shank series].
