Comments:Two species of this introduced, invasive grass from South America grow in disturbed stands of many series. White pampas grass is the less invasive species. Black pampas grass commonly invades Douglas-fir, redwood, and Sitka spruce forest sites after log ing in NorCo. It dies out as the tree canopy develops and reduces light levels. This grass may be present, and persist, in stands of several shrub series. The treatment here is broad, recognizing the importance of this introduced genus in the vegetation f California.
