Comments:The Jepson Manual lists two species, Mexican mosquito fern and mosquito fern; the former is uncommon. This series can occur in the same area with other aquatic series [ see especially the Duckweed series]. For a stand to meet this series definition the mosquito ferns dominate over duckweeds or floating-leaved or emergent plants.
