Comments:This series is often considered part of the coastal scrub, which is better thought of as a collection of series. This approach allows stands of parable composition which can be considered regardless of geographic location.
Plot based descriptions:Cole (1980) reports cover for stands in the Purisima Hills in o-CenCo; Hanes et (1989) describe sites in Antonia Canyon with Califor buckwheat, Kirkpatrick & Hutchinson (1977) define one association, DeSimone & Burk (1992) one association, and Gordon & White (1994) three associations in SoCo; White (1994b) recognizes this one a mong seven coastal scrub series in western Riverside Co. i-SoCo; Boyd (1983) describes five stands in Gavilan Hills in Riverside Co. i. m-TraR.
